I'm positive that I will meet many new friends and acquaintances throughout my travels and life beyond, but I feel that there must be credit given to those who have helped me get to where I am currently. My friends and family have inspired, motivated and supported me through challenging times, and for this I am extremely grateful.
A big thank you to Mum and Dad for supporting me no matter what I throw at them (and I know it has been more than the average for a son my age) and for always being there when I need them. I love you both! I have also been very fortunate to have made such wonderful friends who had faith in me, even when I didn't. A special thank you to George and Joe who have been a huge part of my life for the past 2 years helping me in times of need and when making important decisions. And also to Scott, Matt and Baba, who can take credit for my high esteem and confidence. They helped me through a fragile part of my life and I thank Scott especially for being a great mentor. I miss you all immensely and look forward to seeing you again. Wishing you all a very happy and successful New Year! x

Culture Shock Part Deux
Newcastle upon Tyne. A completely different environment to what I have been used to for the past 3 years but of course still familiar. Moving from Chicago back to my home town was much harder than I had anticipated, both physically and psychologically, but I'm still confident that I made the right decision. It's strange, this place that was once my home is now no more than an empty shell. I have been removed from "home" for such a long time now and I don't seem to be part of it anymore.
As much as I will miss Chicago I look forward to the next chapter of my life. I believe that the adventure I'm about to embark on is not just an investment in my education, but an invaluable life experience that will hopefully shape and prepare me for a successful future. In just 3 years I have gained an enormous amount of confidence, professional training and life skills that combined, has changed my life tremendously. Without a doubt, my experiece in America has made me a much stronger person, which is why I look forward to the new challenges ahead and only hope they have an equal or greater effect.
